Hi, Everyone-

I’ve taken a little time off…visited the family last week for Thanksgiving and all. It was good.

We road tripped. 1200 miles there. 1200 miles back. Mom and dad in the front. Kids in the back. The all-American yelling and fighting extravaganza. Just like with my parents with these small differences: 1) We have seatbelts; 2) A lot less cigarette smoke; and 3) Let the name of the Lord be praised!!!!!…..We have a DVD player. Without this, there would certainly have been some deaths.

Highlights:

1) My brother is an super-conservative anti-government type who is hoarding pennies from before 1982 because they have copper. (I had to ask him what year they took out the copper…then with great disgust I said “Fucking Reagan”…I love irony almost as much as swearing);
2) My son caused a partial evacuation of the hotel because he put a cup of noodles in the microwave without adding any water;
3) My daughter left her light on in the car which completely drained the battery and necessitated a automotive service call to the hotel;
4) I forgot shaving cream so my wife told me to ask my mom for something…”it’s the same thing”, she said. My mom hands me something and I rub it on my face. But it’s not the same at all. It’s some product that is apparently designed to melt hair and burn skin. It resulted in some minor burning and scabbing along with a crappy shave. It is hard to shave while jumping up and down and screaming like a little girl because of the burning.

We will return to our regular schedule and topic this week. Meanwhile, I hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving and you’re all set for an outstanding Monday. (Three weeks…)
